TIPS TO HELP SELL YOUR HOME FASTER
- Repainting is one of the least expensive home improvement projects you can undertake.
- Use a neutral color, even if your room has a neutral color check for tiny cracks and nicks. Inspect home’s exterior for loose or peeling paint.
- If you have pets, steam clean carpets and or replace carpets. Also consider using some nice smelling candles or plug-ins, with a pleasant vanilla or cinnamon smell.
- Test windows and doors, Buyers and their salespeople will test out your windows and closet doors to be sure they operate properly.
- Let there be light! Open curtains, drapes & blinds. Make sure windows and screens are clean. Your house will look larger & brighter.
- Get electrical, plumbing and heating systems checked. Ease the buyers concern by cleaning all electrical outlets and being sure they are functional. Be sure that no faucets drip. Run your heating and air conditioning systems before you list your house (weather permitting).
- Clean and de-clutter. Remember cleaning takes time but doesn’t cost you a dime. Organization also is inexpensive. Go room by room and include the garage. Pack up what you want to keep and put it in a basement or attic in a neat way. Remember Less is More.
- Consider a Pre-Sales Home Inspection. The cost may range between $250.00 - $350.00. Get copies of your inspection and include them along with the disclosure form.
- You may want to consider updating your cabinet hardware and lighting fixtures.
- Wherever possible, arrange decorator items in threes.
- GOOD CURB APPEAL ATTRACTS BUYERS. First impressions are lasting impressions. Trim over-grown shrubs, have flowers when season permits, keep lawn green and trimmed. Clean and paint the front door and entry area around the front door.
